What Can A Virtual Assistant Do For My Business?

Virtual Assistants are an incredibly varied bunch! Ask the majority of non-VA business owners ‘What does a VA do?’ and the majority will either think Alexa/Siri, or will envisage someone who answers the phone for you, or provides traditional PA support remotely. Whilst there are some incredible VAs within our community who do offer top quality remote PA/EA support, managing diaries, inboxes and booking travel and accommodation like organisational ninjas, there are others who don’t offer these services, opting instead for Website support and design/build services, social media support, email marketing guidance and content writing.  Some VAs have a project management background, others are skilled and registered bookkeepers or provide a high quality call answering service.

The varied skillset of the VIP VA community is clearly demonstrated in the results of our 2017 ‘Time to EleVAte’ Survey.  72.48% of survey respondents stated that the primary service that they provide to their clients is administrative support.  However, Social Media Marketing (49.66% of respondents), technical website support (36.24% of respondents) and Marketing (32.21% of respondents) are also significant areas of support offered by the VAs who took part in our survey.

When it comes to answering the question ‘What can a VA help my business with?’ the potential responses are endless! Even if the VA you speak to can’t help with the specific tasks you’d ideally like to outsource, it’s well worth asking for their help and support in finding someone who can, as the VA community is an incredibly open and collaborative community, with likeminded, professional business owners coming together to share their skills and experiences for the benefit and longevity of the wider industry.
